Joined (almost, anyway)!

I finished the "blue" section! I've almost finished joining it to the main piece, but I was running out of light for a quick photo:

Now to lay out, finish basting and piecing, and join the "green" section! I can't wait... not quite according to plan, but not too far off either. Thanks so much for Jess's cheering section!

Ellen's block

Loved doing this block - even more exciting for me was that it came out right - seams met where they were supposed to, etc. Always fun playing with colors. Thanks, Ellen.

Another Block for Ellen

Here are my four blocks, Ellen, and you were right: paper piecing them was the way to go! So perfect! I really liked how they came together. Now, I hope they don't get wrinkled in the mail. Enjoy!

Ellen's Lucky Bee Block

Here's your block, Ellen.   This was fun, easy and an opportunity to use some scraps.  No matter which direction you place the final blocks, I think this is going to be a "fab" quilt!

June Mod Bee Block for Earamichia

I did not grow up with Scratch Art, but I know it from my kids. It was lots of fun to plan. I needed my background to have some specific colors and I got it (almost) right. It started with ocean waves and, somehow, that little tail sneaked her way in. The Misty Fuse needed some Youtube learning, but it was absolutely worth it. Enjoy it, E!

Star block for Astronomical Quilts! Block Challenge

I've never been particularly fond of making star blocks, but this one for the Astronomical Quilts! Block Challenge was easy to foundation piece.  I'm pleased that I'll be able to get it in the mail well before the August 1 deadline.

And because I can't get enough of the charming churn dash blocks my Lucky Bee-mates have been sending me, I made a mini block to sneak into my Dear Jane quilt.  (That's one fewer block I'll have to applique!)

Lucky Bee block for Ellen

I was surprised to find that I had more suitable blues than greens.  Go figure!  (I guess this means I get to buy more green fabric, right?)  Thanks for the challenge, Ellen.

Nearly blue...

Here's a brief update for Jess's Monday Morning Star Count. I joined my "purple" section to the main piece, and I'm almost done with my "blue" section:
I also have some ideas for the green section- I can't wait to finish piecing them to see how they look!

I love looking at the meeting notes, you all are so wonderfully creative and I am getting so many ideas for new projects. But I still hope to finish this one soon! Have a great rest of the summer, everyone-

Jet-lag fueled quilt bee catch up!

I had a pretty busy few months and got a little bit behind on sewing Lucky Bee blocks (I hope I remembered to e-mail all the Queens to let them know in advance, otherwise please accept my late apologies!) I just got back from the UK earlier this week and so have been using my stupidly early morning wake ups to get these blocks done!
