If you need a nice, calm project for a post holiday cool down, appliqueing a pinkish petal onto a greenish background (6 inch square) might be a good one. We currently have 29 blocks, which would make up into an approx. 2 1/2 x 3 foot lapquilt. See samples below. If you need the pattern, it is attached below. If you print out the pattern, be sure that the square measures 6". This will be a wonderfully cheerful quilt when done. Thanks.

Block Lotto Blocks
Here are four blocks for the next block lotto. These could be a really cool collection when all done... much like a Mondrian painting.......

Blocks for Maria - Lucky 13
No matter how many times I try to work in other colors, the orange/red theme seems to come forward anyway! The "favorite block" is hand dyed and thread painted - I figured trying to make a traditional block in a tiny size with my skills at sewing straight lines and matching corners would not come out too well . . . So here they are. Thanks for the challenge, Maria.

December Lucky 13 Bee Blocks for Maria
Here are my rainbow blocks for Maria, our December queen. The number of green blocks shouldn't surprise anyone.
I don't know how "traditional" my center block is, but I wasn't at all confident that I could accurately make a tiny churn dash (my favorite traditional block). A cathedral window variation is kind of traditional, right?
Enjoy your blocks, Maria!

Block Lotto for February - Rectangles of love!
Nothing says love like right angles, so in honor of Valentine's Day we're making rectangles!
Make a rectangle finished size of 10” by 6”. Your rectangle must be made up solely of other rectangles. One of the rectangles in your block must be red. Please use only solids (almost solids/blenders are also acceptable), no prints.
Have fun. The more you make the better your chances of winning!
December Show and Tell (part 3)
December Show and Tell (part 1)
So many great quilts (and other projects) in this month's Show and Tell - enjoy! Posting in a few parts (since I'm figuring out how to do this on the fly...). See everyone in 2016!
Ivete:
This rainbow flying geese quilt is queen sized and will be my new bed quilt once I get it quilted. The geese are done "charm" style, where no goose fabric is repeated, and the background is various low volume prints. Having a design wall was crucial for this project so that I lay all the geese out and figure out their progression. The pattern is coming soon through Gotham Quilts!
