A snappy squirrel for Rossanna

Here's my inspiration picture and my finished block for February Queen Bee Rossanna. I couldn't have been happier to be assigned a squirrel.  It gave me an opportunity to use some (and yet not all) of my squirrel fabrics. Thanks to Deborah for pointing me in the right direction to find beads to add some bling.

What a fun project!

Giraffes for Rossana

These adorable giraffes were great fun to make - from 'made fabric.' From what I've seen so far, this is going to be a very joyful quilt - thanks Rossana!

Log Cabin Blocks for Timeless Challenge

Margaret and I chose to do a wonky log cabin with some geese on top.  In order to make it true opposites, we used both the right and wrong sides of the fabric.  This was fun!

Whale of a Block

For Lucky Bee this month Rosanna gave us each an illustration of an animal to recreate on a black background. I traded my "sparrow with roses" for a whale. Really fun to do!

Guild challenge

Wonky star to go with Chris' star.  Will not admit to how many times I had to rip . . .

FEBRUARY BLOCK LOTTO

Who would have thought? I won the lotto again! It seemed a tad unfair, so, in the spirit of the month, love and all that, I announce (cymbals and trumpets) that I am donating this quilt. At first I thought this should be a "charity emergency blocks" but look how gorgeous they are together!
Even if there are quite a few smaller blocks I think they will make a handsome quilt. So, if nobody objects, I declare this a raffle quilt, to raise funds for our guilt.
And if I am incredibly, stinkingly, lucky, I might win it!
I would like to make top and back but if anybody is looking for practice quilts, have at it. I am still fighting with two quilts (make that three) in my Juki.
Good luck, Valentines!

New Charity Block/Stash Buster

Once the we have enough petal blocks to make a quilt, we will start on the next one - a rainbow. Each block is 6" x 8", made up of strips, going in either direction, any width. Each block should be one color of the rainbow: R(red), O(orange), Y(yellow), G(green), B(blue), I(indigo), V(violet). As you see below, I combined blue and indigo - makes it easier! If you prefer to separate the two blue varieties, please do. Make as many as you want - you can even make several of one color instead of one of each, because once the quilt is put together it doesn't matter if there is an even color range, just a progression. The photo below is just a suggestion. Thanks!!!
